Palazzolo Acreide: its origins date back to 664 BC, when the Greek colony of Akrai was founded by the Syracusans on the Acremonte hill, between the valleys of the rivers Anapo and Tellaro. Today there are several traces of the passage of these populations on the hill Acremonte, where stood the ancient city.
